Yacht Week: Weeks 30-32

Updated: Nov 4, 2023

After a non eventful rest week alone in Kotor Montenegro I returned to Croatia to finish my 3 week Yacht week bender. The first group back was a Bachelorette party from all over. I was with a female skipper, Katie so we had an all girl boat. This was a solid week, chill group, no high highs or low lows. Although there was a 3 day heatwave that blew through that was pretty intense since we didn't have AC. Paris (one of the kiwi sisters from last year) also came as a guest this week so we hung out a lot. Great catching up with her and celebrating our 4th country together. Week 31 was a good one since I got a lot closer with some of the staff this week. I was paired with skipper Caleb and we got along great and had a fun week with a fun crew. He is dating one of the hosts, Deeks, and we hung a lot with her, Ali, Monty, and Kalsi our other skipper friends. Week 32 was a bittersweet goodbye. It was fun since I have more close friends now and many of us were celebrating our last work week. But I did catch a stomach bug that made it's rounds to multiple boats throughout the week. I was on the toilet sick for 12 hours then spent the next 24, exhausted/ recovering and was able to bounce back by mid-week. I had a bachelor party from Louisiana, so thankfully they were easily impressed and not fussed with breakfast times and presentation. I was with skipper Leo this week who was a ray of sunshine and super helpful picking up my slack. Paris was back again this week! She is the queen of yacht week 😂. It was sad saying goodbye to people I have become super close with in such a short amount of time but I have faith that I will see them all next summer if not before then. 😪 Goal for next summer is definitely to come back (and take more pictures this time), it is an intense job but so much fun, and I already miss it.

The current plan is to meet Simon (the guy I went out with in Spain) in Morocco for a week, I may have had a small influence in convincing him to quit his job and backpack for the next year... so we planned a little trip before he heads to SE Asia and Australia. Then I fly to Ibiza on the 18th to work one more private charter with Marco.

Yacht week was a success! I had an absolute blast catching up with friends and meeting new ones. It was a good mix of staff from the Croatia and Greece route so I met some new people and mutual friend
